The View
Check out this photo Tami sent me from work this morning. What a gorgeous view she has from her 5th floor window at the Ivy Tech Community College Library. So beautiful! This barge is headed down the Ohio River with a load of coal from Pennsylvania or West Virginia. And what a stark contrast it is to the view out of my classroom window. I get to look out over the faculty parking lot. Lucky me!

When zero is good
My disdain for winter is well documented in this little corner of the blogosphere. I cannot stand cold weather and I despise snow (especially driving in it). That's why this recent arctic blast has me in a tizzy. The temperature hasn't been above freezing in weeks, and we've had snow on the ground for almost two weeks. Today the temperature is zero. Windchills are expected to be around -20. MISERABLE!
However, today I don't mind the temperature being a bone chilling, teeth chattering zero degrees. Why? Because school was cancelled, that's why :-) The added bonus is this is Friday and I got an unexpected three-day weekend. I won't be doing any cartwheels, but I did get to sleep in and I am going to get some much needed housework done.
Winter still sucks swamp water, but just for today I'm willing to give it a pass.
Soli Deo Gloria!

Cool Sight!
What a cool sight! This is a B-1 Bomber (commonly known as a stealth bomber) flying over the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on New Years Day. The photo was taken by a pilot on a Cessna flying at a higher altitude than the bomber. This gives me chills! God Bless America, and Soli Deo Gloria!

It's cold
How can I say this? IT'S COLD! The high temperature is going to to be somewhere below zero today. Wind chills will be somewhere between -15 and -25. Unbelievable!
Tell me again how pretty the snow is. Tell me again how you like the change of seasons. Tell me again how you'd rather be cold than hot. BALONEY! It's blasted cold outside and it is not fit for man nor beast out there. This is ridiculous! I cannot stand winter. There is nothing (and I do mean nothing) good about it.

Happy New Year!
Another year has come and gone. 2017 will go down as one of many ups and downs. The high point by far was Michael's wedding. 2017 was another year of God's mercy and grace upon grace upon grace.
May the Lord continue to bless us as we enter 2018. May we glorify and honor His name in our every word, thought, and deed.
Happy New Year, loyal blog readers.
Soli Deo Gloria!
