It has done nothing but rain for the entire spring. The Cincinnati area is ten inches above normal for the year. April showers bring more May showers. Forget the flowers... they drowned.
Today I am longing for some sunny weather. Here are a few nice photos from my old stomping ground... Lake Erie.

The Mounted Police
The grandkids took a field trip to the horse barn where the mounted police keep their equine counterparts. This is the face Asher made when the horses weren't real receptive to taking apples out of his hand, and when he got slobbered on when the horses did. HE. IS. NOT. HAPPY!!!!!!!!

Not so common
Sadly this is very true. Common sense is definitely not common (and it starts young). Take my students for example... The temperatures have been in the 80's this week. Shorts and t-shirt weather for sure. However, my students are still wearing long pants and hooded sweatshirts. These same students complain daily they are hot. I look at them with a dumbfounded look on my face. How can these kids look at me with a straight face as they perspire wearing a sweatshirt, and not know how to remedy the problem. It takes everything within me not to shout, "TAKE OF THE FLIPPIN' SWEATSHIRT!!!!!!!!". If you're hot, and you're wearing a sweatshirt, common sense dictates you remove all unnecessary clothing for starters. Common sense!

"BEE" ware!
We took our students to the Reds game yesterday. I will spare you the stressful details of taking a large group of 9-12 year olds to downtown Cincinnati and allowing them the freedom to roam Great American Ballpark. I'm making this post to share an unusual event... The start of the game was delayed due to BEES!, You read that correctly. A swarm of 75,000 honeybees invaded the ballpark shortly before the first pitch. The game was subsequently delayed 18 minutes. A strange twist of events solved the problem... as luck would have it, two beekeepers happened to be sitting in the owner's luxury box. What a strange day!
The first photo is not a beekeeper. That's Reds Player Derek Dietrich clowning around with the bees.

Chicken!
Attorney General Bill Barr recently testified before congress regarding his summary report of The Mueller Report. The Democrats were not satisfied with his answers and told Barr he needed to testify before congressional lawyers at a house judiciary committee meeting the next day. Barr legally and rightfully refused to testify. The infuriated democrats melted down because they say he is lying and doing everything he can to protect the President. In actuality he is simply telling the truth. The problem is the democrats don't like the truth. They want so badly for the Trump campaign to be guilty of collusion and obstruction of justice. Neither happened. The democrats in congress branded Barr a chicken (as if he were afraid to testify), and staged a childish stunt. Representative Cohen of Tennessee put a prop chicken on the table and proceeded to eat a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken during the hearing. What a mature response from someone elected by the people to United States Congress. Really? That's the best you can do? Face it democrats. You lost. The President was cleared of any wrongdoing. Get over it! Move on!
The late night talk show hosts (who are incredibly left-leaning liberals) were even ashamed of the stunt.
Late night host Jimmy Kimmel mocked House Democrats for using chicken to taunt Attorney General William Barr, hinting on Thursday night that President Donald Trump will win again with these kinds of Democratic "sick burns."
Barr was a no-show for his House Judiciary Committee appearance after he and Democratic lawmakers couldn't agree on terms of hearing. Barr's decision prompted Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., to bring a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken and a toy chicken to the hearing and branded the attorney general as "Chicken Barr."
Thank you Democrats. Your antics are sealing Trumps re-election in 2020.

Mayday! Mayday!
May Day! May Day!
Happy first day of May! I love this month! It’s the month when spring goes full throttle and it’s the month when school lets out for summer. It’s the month I open the pool and the month when the weather can turn from warm-ish to hot. It’s also the month when we start to get some really cool thunderstorms. What’s not to love about May?
