It's dark!

I don't remember it being like this. Daylight Saving Time has been ending in the fall my entire life. I know this time of year it gets dark early. I know it has always been this way. I just don't remember it affecting me in such a drastic manner. Nowadays when 7:30 hits I get really tired. By 8:00 I am half asleep. By 8:30 I am drifting off and fading in and out of sleep. By 9:00 I am dead to the world. What am I, 90 years old? This is crazy! I know aging causes changes to your body, but I never thought I'd see the day when making it past 9:00 was "Staying up late". Just last night Tami and I congratulated each other for staying up past 9:00. However, we were both fast asleep before 9:30. UGH!

BRRRR!

Well that escalated quickly! It seems like we went from hot and humid to snow flurries in the blink of an eye. Where did fall go? How is it possible to skip an entire season? Winter is upon us, folks. Bundle up! It's going to be a bumpy ride!

Marriage

The book of Genesis says marriage is between one man and one woman. Nothing else. It's that simple.

Darkness

I hope everyone remembered to set their clocks back last night. Welcome to the darkness, everyone! I hope you're ready for short, cold, dreary days and long, freezing, dark nights. UGH!

Awkward!

We are now at that awkward time between Halloween and Thanksgiving. You would think the stores would be full of everything Thanksgiving related, but we all know what is REALLY going to happen. The stores will jump straight from Halloween to Christmas. Haul out the holly! It's November 2nd... The holiday season is upon us. Sheesh!

A great day!

Today is one of my most favorite days of the year! Why? Because Halloween is now 364 days away! It's time for all the stores to put away the pumpkins, ghosts, and witches and haul out the turkeys and cornucopia! Now the countdown begins toward one of the BEST holidays of the year... THANKSGIVING!

To say goodbye to Halloween I have posted a few photos of "FLASHLIGHT READING" at my school. Essentially we turn out the lights and let the kids read spooky stories using only a flashlight. It's not my favorite activity, but the kids like it. It's also a good opportunity for parents to come to school and read with their children.
