Today's the day!

It's here! The big day! Michael gets married at 5:00 today. I am so happy for him, but it is so strange to think he will never live under my roof again. I will take photos with my phone, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to post them. There may not be a blog post tomorrow, but I will definitely be back Monday.

Big Event

I haven't mentioned much about it, but there is a big event coming up for the Meyer family. Michael is getting married in Brandenburg, Kentucky on Saturday. On December 16th 5:00 at the Southern Grace Bed and Breakfast, Michael will marry the love of his life, Lauren Parrish. After honeymooning in Antigua for a week, the newlyweds will reside in an apartment in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.

We are looking forward to a big celebration and are eager to see these two love birds start a new life together.

Snow Way!

We had our first measurable snowfall on Saturday. I was NOT happy. Snow just means being cold and extra work. This work comes in the form of cleaning off cars, shoveling my driveway, and clearing the parking lot and sidewalks at church. Many people say, "Oh look! It's snowing! Isn't it beautiful?" I say, "Oh look! It's snowing! Great! Extra work to do. Just what I needed!"

There is only one positive note about the recent snow. We were able to enjoy our hot tub during the snowfall. It was actually pretty neat. Other than that... snow sucks swamp water!

A funny coincidence

The following is totally true. Not a joke, but a funny coincidence.

This time of year, college football teams enter the "Bowl Season". The Rose Bowl, The Orange Bowl, The Sugar Bowl. The Cotton Bowl etc...

This year in the Camping World Bowl (yes, there really is a Camping World Bowl) the Virginia Tech Hokies will play the Oklahoma State Cowboys. What's so funny about that you ask? Nothing until you realize the The Cowboys' nickname is the Pokes. So now you have the Hokies playing the Pokes. Why this is not being hyped as the Hokie Pokie Bowl is beyond me. Believe me, you can't make this stuff up!

Both these teams started out the season slow, but then they really turned themselves around. And that's what it's all about.
