Today in history

Today in history, April 14th...

April 14th, 1865- President Abraham Lincoln is shot and killed by John Wilkes Booth in Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C.

April 14th, 1912- RMS Titanic hits an iceberg and sinks in the North Atlantic Ocean leading to the most famous shipwreck story in maritime history.

Today Pete Rose turns 79. A slug of a human being, but one of the greatest baseball players of all time.

April 14th, 2020- Mick Meyer is stuck indoors due to a stay-at home order in response to the Corona Virus. Silence Runs Deep celebrates surpassing 100,000 page views.

April 14th, 2020- The world has been turned upside down, and nobody really knows if/when things will get back to normal. Maybe the world will never again be like we knew it. Perhaps we are in line for a new normal. This happened after World War II, after the 9/11 attacks, and maybe now after the outbreak of the Corona Virus.
