Fingers and Toes

Never really thought about it this way, but it really makes you think, doesn't it?

What a sham!

The judge Kavanaugh hearing has been an embarrassment to this nation. The Democrats refuse to accept defeat and have stooped to levels I didn't think possible in American politics.

A third accuser

A third Kavanaugh accuser came out today. Do the democrats really believe the American public is too dumb to see what they're doing? This is pure absurdity! Character witnesses are coming out of the woodwork in support of Brett Kavanaugh. I mean there are dozens and dozens of them. All three accusers have very shaky stories and quite frankly I don't believe them. I believe this is a coordinated effort by the liberal democrats to keep a conservative off the Supreme Court. It won't work. I'm telling you they are only delaying the inevitable.

The 49ers

On Sunday the San Francisco 49ers lost their star quarterback to a season ending injury. Normally I wouldn't give a hoot about the 49ers, but there are rumors that the team may look into bringing back Colin Kaepernick. This is the disrespectful NFL player who started the whole "kneeling during the anthem" controversy. As I've said many times before, Kaepernick has a constitutional 1st amendment right to protest whatever he wants. I just think using the NFL stage during the national anthem is a classless way to exercise that right. He should do it on his own time. Anyway, just the idea of Kapernick getting the opportunity to disrespect law enforcement and the armed forces again is enough to turn my stomach. Just last month Kaepernick got a multi million dollar endorsement from Nike because he supposedly stood for something and gave up everything. No he didn't. He chose this path. Many who have made the ultimate sacrifice did not choose theirs.

How many dogs?

I thought these were pretty funny. I might add...

Beagle- I'll just howl at it until it changes itself.

Doberman- It better change or I'll tear it to shreds!

St. Bernard- May I offer you a little nip of gin before changing that light bulb?

Maltese- Maybe if I run in a circle long enough it will change.

Ridiculous

This Brett Kavanaugh thing is getting ridiculous. This woman, Christine Blasey Ford has accused Judge Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her 35 years ago. She doesn't remember the date or where it exactly happened either. This is so ridiculous I don't even have the words to describe it. The Republicans have given this woman opportunity after opportunity to testify before a Senate committee, but she keeps stalling and placing more and more restrictions on doing so. She even wants a full FBI investigation before testifying. Let alone this is not a matter for the FBI and not within their jurisdiction. Don't get me wrong... if something happened, this woman needs to be heard and her story needs to come out. But it begs the question... the woman was 15 at the time and drunk at a house party. Why didn't this girl tell her parents what happened or why wasn't a police report filed? This whole thing is sketchy at best and quite frankly it stinks to high heaven. Justice Kavanaugh should be innocent until proven guilty. This is the way of the true American justice system. That's not what is happening here. Judge Kavanaugh has been found guilty by the mainstream media and they are leaving it up to him to prove his innocence. I guess the liberals have forgotten the burden of proof is on the accuser. This is nothing more than character assassination and a pathetic attempt by the democrats to avoid a conservative majority on the Supreme Court. And by the way, if The Democrats are so concerned about what happened to Ms. Ford, why weren't they equally concerned for the many women Bill Clinton sexually assaulted and raped? I'll tell you why... it doesn't fit their political agenda. They're all a bunch of hypocrites! If Judge Kavanaugh is guilty, then let him be proven guilty and suffer the consequences. If he is innocent, let the Senate vote and confirm him already!

It's tough

School has been challenging this year to say the least. The kids are getting more difficult. I am getting older and have less energy than I used to in order to deal with them. I know I've posted this picture before, but I think it sums up how I'm feeling today. Tired. Beaten down. No real hope of things ever getting better.

Gimme an "F"!

F means failure, right? Well check this out! The name of this airline is Cathay Pacific. Have a look at the major fail below. Oops! Somebody has some explaining to do. Notice the gaping mistake? Yep! They left the "F" out of the word Pacific on one of their planes. Uh-oh!

Kids!

My kids are all grown now. My new adventure into the empty nest has been well documented on this blog. However, I can still relate to this. It's so true!

A new low

Last week the democrats acted like spoiled toddlers throwing a tantrum at the confirmation hearings for prospective Supreme Court Justice, Brett Kavanaugh. Yesterday, they reached a new low. I didn't think it was possible for them to go any lower, but that's exactly what they did. Yesterday a woman claimed Mr. Kavanaugh forced himself on her at a party in high school 35 years ago. At the same time more than 5 dozen women can to his defense saying they knew him back in high school and they knew him to be nothing other than honorable and respectful to women. We now know what is going to happen. Mr. Kavanaugh's character has been assassinated for political purposes. The democrats can't stand the idea of a conservative majority on the Supreme Court and have resorted to destroying an innocent man to prevent that from happening.

Question--- If this happened 35 years ago, why is this woman bringing it out now?
Answer--- She is a known far left wing activist and is doing this to stop Judge Kavanaugh from being appointed to the highest court in the land. Plain and simple. That's your answer.

This behavior is despicable, and I am not surprised by it one bit. Grandpa, this isn't your democrat party. The democrats of today are far left radicals who have no reasonable platform. They only have one strategy--- stomp your feet and scream bloody murder. Unfortunately for all of us... it's working.

Hurricane Florence

Early this week Hurricane Florence was a Category 4 monster headed straight for the Carolinas. Yesterday it made landfall as a Category 1. There will still be lots of damage and massive flooding, but it's evident things could have been a million times worse. Hurricanes are no laughing matter. Florence is causing billions of dollars worth of damage. The Carolinas will rebuild... it's what Americans do. Here's a little bit of lightheartedness in the face of a terrible storm. And don't forget the liberals are blaming Trump for this hurricane. They say he is complicit because he denies climate change. Yes, really folks, it's true. In some small way the liberals think Trump has a hand in weather and natural disasters.

Back in the day

My oh my, how the world has changed!

Beautiful

Check out this beautiful photo Tami took last week. It was taken during a storm from the 5th floor of Ivy Tech College (from the library). I love that she happened to catch a rainbow and lightning all in one photo. Note the Carroll Cropper bridge in the background. Neat pic, Honey!

Golf

I never really thought about golf this way, but it really is true. Usually when we enjoy something we do it as long as possible. In golf it's the complete opposite.

Donuts!

Well shoot! If I had known this job was a "thing", I never would have gone to college to become a teacher. A donut eating expert? Are you kidding me? I would be tops in my field!

This is SO true, especially as I get older. I drink two cups of coffee and I spend the rest of the day running back and forth to the bathroom. Sheesh!

Goodbye, Bandit

I'm not the type of guy who gets all hung up on celebrities. They're just regular people like me. They put their pants on one leg at a time just as I do. In many cases they have more miserable lives than we common folk. They simply have more money to help them through it. Celebrity worship just isn't my style.

Burt Reynolds died yesterday. He was far from my favorite actor and I really didn't pay attention to him other than in two movies I really liked. "Smokey and the Bandit" as well as the original "The Longest Yard". Both movies are timeless classics in their own right.

I'm only making this post about Burt Reynolds because of a very vivid memory I have. I remember my parents talking us to see Smokey and the Bandit at the theater in 1977. I was 10 years old. If you are at all familiar with this movie, you know it definitely wasn't for kids. However, I don't fault my parents for taking us to see it. It had bad language, but heck, we kids heard that stuff every day. No big deal. There was one minor love scene, but everything was left to the viewer's imagination. For a 10 year old boy my knowledge of "love" was super limited so my imagination didn't go very far. Once again, no big deal. I remember the movie being highly entertaining. What 10 year old boy wouldn't enjoy what amounted to a two hour, half way across the country car chase? I remember my dad just howling with laughter, and I remember how much we all enjoyed it (even if it was a little risqué).

The apple must not fall very far from the tree. Michael loves this movie too. In fact, the movie's theme song (Eastbound and Down) is my ringtone for Michael's phone calls. What can I say? The kid has good taste in movies.

I have good memories of Smokey and the Bandit. It makes me sad to think that ol' Bandit is gone. Goodbye, Bandit. Thanks for a fun movie.
