Pumpkin Pie

Halloween is almost here, and it is officially pumpkin pie season. Yum!

How I turned out

I look at myself and think, "I may not be the greatest guy in the world, but I turned out okay". Despite all the things in the graphic below (yes, this pretty much describes my childhood). I would also add that we rode our bikes endlessly throughout the summer WITHOUT HELMETS and we didn't seriously injure ourselves. We drank water out of the dirty garden hose and we didn't contract some deadly disease caused by bacteria. We didn't put small toys in our mouths and choke to death even though most toys had small parts that would be illegal today. You can't make laws to protect kids from every possible hazardous scenario. Sometimes kids have to learn the hard way. If you crack your head on the pavement from doing something stupid on your bike, you don't need another law to stop you from doing it again. Common sense tells you, "That hurt. I better not do THAT again!). Kids have been getting hurt while playing outside since the dawn of time. We don't need more laws... we just need to let nature take its course.

We have proof

This is actual photographic proof. A democrat that lives in this building said, "May God strike me dead if I'm lying". Well, it finally happened.

Sunrise

I posted something similar a short while back. A beautiful sunrise is a wonderful way to start the day. It's a good reminder of God's beautiful creation, and a reminder of God's promises to us. My classroom window has an eastern exposure and I am often treated to some gorgeous sights. These photos were taken yesterday.

A new season!

A few weeks ago I undertook the depressing task of covering our pool. That's always the final nail in summer's coffin. I hate doing it, and I hate what it brings. Less daylight, cold temperatures, and yes, even snow. However, yesterday I cleaned out the hot tub (BIG job!), filled it with water (450 gallons takes a while), and let it heat up overnight. Soooooooo... swimming season is over, but hot tub season is here. It's not a bad consolation prize, but I still prefer long summer days, and warm summer nights.

Grandkids

This is so true! Why didn't I think of it? I guess it really hits home because I teach many, many children who are being raised by their grandparents. It's not the natural order of things, and certainly isn't the way God intends it to be.

Mega Millions

Did you take part in the recent lottery craze? I'll admit I took part in a teachers pool last week, but did not play last night. Everything was put into perspective when I heard you stood a better chance of getting hit by a meteor than winning the 1.6 billion dollar jackpot. Everybody likes to dream of hitting it big, and I guess I'm no different. Obviously I didn't win. Somebody in South Carolina owns the winning ticket. You can see my numbers below.

Taking Credit

There is no denying it. The Trump economy is BOOMING right now. Yesterday former President Obama did his best to take credit for it. I find it funny that when Obama took over for George W. Bush in 2008 he blamed all the economic woes on the previous administration. Yet when things are going well, he claims the economic successes are HIS doing. He wants it both ways. He can't have it both ways. Check out his quote below. UNBELIEVABLE! It takes gall to say this. No shame at all!

I forgot to mention this yesterday. Elizabeth Warren wrote a book of Native American recipes called "Pow Wow Chow". They were supposedly handed down through her family. The truth is, they were completely plagiarized. What a complete FRAUD!
