Harsh Winters
I complain a lot about winter. The older I get, the more the cold bothers me. And snow? Don't even get me started!!!!!
Winters are rough, but nowhere near the severity of the winters we suffered in 1976-77 and 1977-1978. Snow was measured in feet instead of inches, and sub-zero temperatures became commonplace. I was only 10 and 11 years old at the time, and I was too young to recognize how horrible the situation was. The photos below show the Ohio River frozen over, and the sheer amount of snow that was on the ground. YUCK!
