Our family had a good laugh when Michael's $287 "textbook" arrived in the mail yesterday. True to the ways of the 21st century, the textbook isn't really a book at all. It's an e-book. Translation= it's an internet based book with accompanying resources (videos, links to websites etc...). Here are two photos of what Michael received. The first one is what appears to be a CD or DVD case. The laugh occurred when he opened the case. The second photo shows what was inside. It was what amounted to a business card with the access code on it. I maintain my position that the textbook companies are committing highway robbery. Michael paid shipping charges for the textbook company to send him a business card. Question: Wouldn't it have been easier to e-mail the access code? Answer: Yes, but then they couldn't soak you for shipping costs. Sheesh! What a racket!
