I meant to post this yesterday, but forgot. The date yesterday was October 4th (10/4). Why is nobody calling this CB day? As in, 10-4 good buddy.
I haven't thought of Citizens Band (CB) radios in a long time. However, the recent death of Burt Reynolds of Smokey and the Bandit fame brought the use of these radios back to mind. Remember the 70's when anybody who owned a conversion van also had a CB radio? Remember when everybody and their brother was talking in CB lingo? What's your 20, meant where are you? A Smokey was a cop. A bear in the air was traffic law enforcement by plane or helicopter. Double nickel was the speed limit of 55MPH. Go Go juice was diesel fuel. And trucker songs were all the rage.
Now we have cell phones and texting. I sure do miss the old days.
Breaker breaker 1-9. This is Silence Runs Deep signing off. 10-4 good buddy. Over and out!
