Oral Surgery

Abby had some fairly extensive oral surgery today. She received a gingival graft. Simply put, she had seriously receding gums on her her lower front teeth. Tissue was removed from the roof of her mouth and grafted onto her gum line. The doctor said the receding gums were even worse since Abby's last visit and required an even more extensive graft. She came through the surgery fine, but is still groggy. She is in considerable pain and is expected to have several days of major discomfort. She's on hydrocodone... hopefully that will kill most of the pain. She's being a real trooper, but you can tell the pain is pretty bad. Poor thing! I'd take her place in a split second if I could.
