Back in the day there were 2 amusement parks in northern Cincinnati. Lesourdesville Lake (later known as Americana) and a kiddy park next door called Fantasy Farm. I have fond memories of both parks. These parks were in operation before Kings Island opened in 1972 and filled the void left when Coney Island closed (only to be reopened later). These two parks were not like the mega parks in operation today. They were smaller, simpler and tons of fun in their own right. In the old days we didn't need super-ultra thrill rides to have fun. These two parks offered plenty of opportunities for fun without flipping you upside down, sending you down a hill at over 100 MPH, scaring the pants off you or overstimulating your senses. It was okay though. We didn't feel we were missing anything or as if anything was lacking. Those were definitely the days.
The following photos are what both parks look like today. Kind of sad, but FASCINATING!
